Humble Bee Farm is helping our feathered friends and our flying mammals with their bird and bat boxes.

Pictured above is Julia with Richard Baines from Yorkshire Coast Nature.

Richard said; "The bird boxes are for tree sparrows which are relatively common in North and East Yorskhire but they have declined signficantly in the rest of the UK. We have a responsiblity to look after our birds here on the farm. Tree sparrows love nesting close to each other which is why boxes are lcoated in groups.

"The bat boxes are speically designed for bats such as pipistrelles to roost. They have an entrance at the base of the boxes they can land and crawl up into the box.

"All of the boxes are made of Tricoya, an environmentally sustainbale product, very tough and durable. See more here. "
