The build-up to Christmas along the Yorkshire Coast and on the North York Moors is exciting and fun!
From Whitby to Scarborough, from Filey to Bridlington and across our wild moors, there are so many things to do.
Of course we have our very own Christmas events here at Humble Bee Farm!
Christmas at Castle Howard
As one of the country’s finest stately homes, Castle Howard needs no introduction.
Their Christmas event starts on 15th November and runs to 5th January 2025.
This year’s extravaganza is based on an Alice in Wonderland theme.
Christmas on the North York Moors
As one of the UK’s finest National Parks, enjoy Christmas Shopping Weekends at Danby Lodge, Danby on 16th and 17th November and 14th and 15th December.
You can also enjoy this experience at Sutton Bank National Park Centre, between Helmsley and Thirsk on 23rdand 24th November and 14th and 15th December.
North Yorkshire Moors Railway
The Santa Specials on this heritage railway are a real treat!
They depart from Pickering Station from late November to the 5th January 2025.
Other Market Towns
Helmsley, Malton and Hovingham are stunning towns and villages which host festive events including Christmas Light Switch Ons and markets.
Malton Christmas Festival takes place in the Market Place on 7th and 8th December, while Hovingham Christmas Market takes place on 21st December.
Christmas on the Coast
The Yorkshire Coast is magnificent during the Wintertime!
Brisk walks, stunning sunrises, cosy nights by an open fire … what more could you want.
Scarborough’s Annual Scarborough Lights will shine from 15th November to 22nd December with 26 free installations and illuminations scattered across the town, along with seven special ticketed events.
Scarborough is famous for seaside festive fun including Santa’s arrival in the town by boat on Saturday 16thNovember from 11am.
He will be greeted by local choirs and a Christmas band as he arrives in the town’s historic harbour in South Bay.
Then the town’s annual Scarborough Sparkle event takes place in the Open Air Theatre in North Bay. The dates this year are 29th November, 30th November and 1st December.
Further up the coast in Whitby, famous for its Dracula connections, there’s plenty going on this Christmas.
The Whitby Christmas Festival takes place on 15th November to 17th November in the Marina (Front) Car Park.
Then Whitby Krampus run takes place on 7th and 8th December, 12pm to 5pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
There will be a Made In Whitby Christmas Market at Whitby Brewery 14th and 15th December from 11am featuring local artisan crafts.
Robin Hood’s Bay hosts its famous Victorian Weekend on the 7th and 8th December.
Festive Filey
This traditional seaside resort including the Filey Fishtive Tree at the Coble Landing from 7th December.
There is a range of local, independent stores, cafes and restaurants to visit too!
Brilliant Bridlington and East Yorkshire
The border with East Yorkshire is just a few miles away from Humble Bee Farm, so we are perfectly placed for our guests to explore this stunning county.
From Bridlington to Beverley, from Driffield to Pocklington down to Hull, there are so many lovely places to visit.
Events include Christmas Markets, Christmas light switch ons, winter themed events, workshops and theatre productions.
