Here’s Our Guide to Getting Back to Nature here at Humble Bee Farm!
- Guests can connect with the animals and meet Farmer Percy, joining him on his rounds each morning.
- Meet the animals including our goats, alpacas, sheep, guinea pigs, donkeys and Tilly the Shetland Pony.
- Enjoy all three farm walks which are circular ones: Piggy Back, Staxton Wold and Bumble Bee.
- Take time out in the Reflection Garden, full of colourful flowers, shrubs, herbs and more.
- Enjoy the huge skies above: watch the clouds race by; enjoy the sunrise and sunset; stargaze when the night falls.
- Grab a notebook and make a note of all the wild animals and birds you’ll see … watch out for curlews, lapwings, barn owls, kestrels, hares, deer and more.
- Understand how crops grow … see them in the fields, from seeds to ripened crops in August.
- Watch the wildlife making the most of our duckpond … you can see dragonflies, swallows, and other creatures at certain times of year.
- Get a sense of the seasons: visit us in the Spring for lambing; Summer and you’ll see the golden fields of wheat; Autumn watch out for orange pumpkins; Winter and feel nature going to sleep as Christmas approaches.
- For experienced walkers, the Yorkshire Wolds Way is easily accessible from Humble Bee (you will need proper walking gear and maps to do this trail).
