Did you know that we’re already thinking about our Lambing Weekends which take place in March 2022?
This is because there’s a new member of the farmyard gang … well, nearly!
Visitors to Humble Bee Farm will know we’re a working farm and we look after a herd of Belted Galloway cattle, a flock of Texel sheep, some curious pigs and not forgetting Tilly our Shetland Pony.
Yet Farmer Percy now has a New Zealand ram as part of his gang!
This handsome fellow is called Brian, and he has a black face and ears, has a stocky build and did take a few days to settle in.
He will join three other Texel rams we have already.
So come Spring 2022, and if all goes to plan, all our ewes will be in lamb and ready to give birth at some point in March.
Our Lambing Weekends are open to guests who stay on our farm and include talks by Farmer Percy, a chance to visit the lambing shed and enjoy our lovely working farm.
Spring is also a gorgeous time to visit the farm with the daffodils in full flower, hares scampering across the fields, and signs of new life appearing everywhere around the farm.
The proposed dates for March 2022 are:
Friday 4th and Saturday 5th
Friday 11th and Saturday 12th
Friday 18th and Saturday 19th
Friday 25th and Saturday 26th
Book your Big Chief, Running Water or Wigwam Lodge!
There will also be Open Days on Sunday 6th, Sunday 13th, Sunday 20th and Sunday 27thMarch, during which anyone can visit (tickets only). You’ll see our busy lambing shed, be able to enjoy a takeaway drink or snack at The Hive and buy some lovely Humble Bee Farm souvenirs. You will also get the chance to enjoy our stunning farm walks!
