Humble Bee’s Farmyard Gang this Christmas
Winter has arrived! It is time find out what’s been happening with the Farmyard Gang.
Who’s In the Farmyard Gang?
Our farmyard gang includes budgies, rabbits, sheep, donkeys, alpacas, hens, guinea fowl, guinea pigs, goats and hens.
Other members of the team include our two farm cats (a boy and a girl) and our two sheep dogs, Madge and Alfie, both border collies.
Then we have our very quaky ducks that swim on our pond.
Let’s not forget the incredible wildlife too! From hares to owls, from robins to field mice, there’s always something bustling about the farmyard, in the fields and in the hedgerows.
Our farm animals, except for our sheep, are either in or will soon be inside one of our cosy barns ready for Christmas.
The recent cold snap means the wildlife also either hibernates or takes shelter in burrows and hedgerows.
Some members for our farmyard gang will also be part of our Festive Barn in 2023, which is open to guests staying on our site.
The Star of the Show – Tilly, Our Shetland Pony.
Tilly, our feisty Shetland Pony is always here ready to say ‘hello’!
Her thick winter coat and mane show that she’s ready for the colder weather.
If the ground isn’t frozen or is not too wet, then guests can call into our reception during opening hours and ask to book in a time slot to take her for a short ramble.
Tilly enjoys her time both in her paddock and shelter, and in the barn when the time comes.
Christmas 2023 at Humble Bee Farm.
For anyone staying with us in one of our luxury cabins or cottages this fun time of year, you’ll get access to our Christmas themed Festive Barn.
It is open from 9am each day and you can see Santa’s Grotto, Santa’s Sleigh, write and post a letter to Father Christmas, and see our decorated Christmas Tree.

Our Chickens
Our hens have their own spacious enclosure here Humble Bee Farm.
You can visit them with Farmer Percy on his morning rounds at certain times of year.
They have several hen huts and one of them has a door so you can check for any freshly laid eggs!
Alpaca Adventures
Our resident alpacas are already seasoned adventurers and we are already looking forward to the new season of Alpaca Adventures in 2024 here at Humble Bee Farm.
We have three alpacas that live with us here at Humble Bee Farm, and they have their own shelter too during the warmer weather, before moving to our indoor barn in the colder months.
Say Hello to Our Goats
Our goats are very friendly and really don’t mind their photos being taken, in fact, they’ve been known to pose for pictures!
They live in their own outdoor pen which used to house our pigs and piglets during the better weather, and they move into the barn at other times of year.
Ask about our Guinea Pigs
Our guinea pigs make lovely squeaking noises. Please ask to see them if you’re staying with us.
They have their own indoor, spacious pens with fresh straw and wood shavings, along with fresh water, bowls of delicious food and space to run around.
Peter and Flopsy
Named after Beatrix Potter’s famous bunny rabbits, Peter and Flopsy are our two resident rabbits.
You can see them in their spacious cages and they have the softest fur, along with floppy ears and twitchy noses.
Budgies!
Did you know we’ve also got our two budgies, a male called Jules and a female called Blondie.
They can be found in our festive barn area in their spacious cages and they chirrup all day long.
They are very friendly and are happy to say hello each day.
Just To Say …
Any animal on our farm can have the potential to spit, nip or bite so always, always take care when you say ‘hello’.
Therefore, you can only handle the smaller animals when Farmer Percy is present.
This will prevent any bites, nips or scratches being made to humans, thank you.
Did You Know …
That we also have lots happening in 2024!
We start off with our Lambing Experience Weekends in March 2024.
We will also be staging our Alpaca Adventures in 2024, dates to be announced soon.
